Description
Set of Four Wrought Iron Chairs by Arthur Umanoff
United States, c1960s
This set of four armless dining chairs were designed by Arthur Umanoff, a prominent American furniture designer known for his innovative use of mixed materials such as metal, wood, and rattan. The chairs are part of Umanoff’s Mayan collection and feature a sun pattern on the backrest, which is considered to be one of Umanoff’s signature motifs. The circular shape and radiating lines add an element of whimsy to the otherwise functional and minimalist design.
The frames are made of wrought iron and in original condition. The wooden seats need to be upholstered.
