A rare pair of wingback chairs by Mexican Designer/decorator Arturo Pani. Interesting “scroll” detail on wings, “Cabriole shaped legs and structure of mahogany.” Place of origin: Mexico City.
Documented in Verna Cook Shipway and Warren Shipway’s book: Mexican Interiors, 1962, p.146. Inspired by an 18th century English wing chair Pani discovered in a town outside of Mexico City.
